Dolce, the sweet tortoise pictured, was picked up by a kill shelter after just giving birth to three kittens. Believing that she and her kittens were soon to be put down, we rescued them. However, my home is full with 3 large dogs and a cat, so my neighbor consented to foster. Poor Dolce was so weak, she was unable to feed the kittens for a couple of days, so we armed outselves with doll bottles and managed to keep them fed until she could take over. Now all the kittens have been adopted to good homes and it's Dolce's turn. She's current on her shots, is in good health and spayed. She has an excellent disposition, loves to be held (for a short while) and is not a complainer. She is ready for a good and loving home of her own!
