Pinot & Cabo

Cocker Spaniel / Labrador Retriever / Mixed • Female • Senior

When doing rescue work, we often get "thanks for saving me", " thanks for believing in me" or "thanks for picking me" from the dogs we rescue. But when this amazing pair was loaded into the car you could tell that Cabo, the black lab, was saying one thing...
"Thank you for saving her" .

All he cared about was that Pinot was safe.

Pinot and Cabo were out at Fort Bend Animal Control. Their owner had passed away. Her granddaughter tried to take in these wonderful seniors, but two senior dogs and twin infants was just too much. The great people at Fort Bend Animal Control kept them safe. But their story was not going to end there.

We know that
Placing pairs is hard.
Placing seniors is hard.
Placing special needs dogs is hard.
But we are determined to find Pinot and Cabo a home together.
Please help us by sharing their story.

Cabo is a fabulous, incredibly gentle black lab. He is about 9 years old and very much a lab. He loves toys, food (but will let Pinot have whatever she wants) and to play with the water from the hose.

Pinot is an amazingly sweet, unbelievably soft 9 year old cocker spaniel (maybe cockapoo). She is completely blind but does remarkably well. She learns new environments quickly and is very dependent on Cabo. He is her seeing eye buddy. She is surprisingly confident and loves to go for walks with Cabo by her side.

If you have room in your home, but more importantly room in your heart, these two will not disappoint. They are completely potty trained, do not need to be crated and are heartworm negative. They simply need love, a home with comfy beds, some yummy food, and a little more love.

If you are interested in sharing in their lives which are already so full of love please fill out an application today. They truly are a remarkable pair and whoever adopts them will be an incredibly lucky person.
