Meet our Jakey boy! Jake was turned into the pound by his awful owner. The reason you asked - Jake is too old!! Unbelievable! This handsome guy is about 6-8 years old and a gentle soul. He's a 45lb Flat Coated Retriever and oh what a looker! 

Jake is beyond sweet and gentle and loves to snuggle with his foster mom, canine foster siblings and even his feline foster sibling!  He gets along with everyone and all dogs and cats too.  He’s just perfect and would make a perfect fit to a loving home.  He has great house manners too and causes no trouble whatsoever in his foster home.  He also visits the dog park with his canine foster siblings from time to time and loves to hang out with everyone.  Because he’s a little older of a guy, he’s not super active and gets sore sometimes after he overdoes it, but he fixes that with a day of lounging in a comfy dog bed.

Jake is currently heartworm positive (not contagious), but please don't let that keep you from meeting him.  Scout's Honor is treating him through the "slow-kill" method of treatment (which we will cover all costs for) and we would be more than happy to discuss it with you.
