Meet little Chaplin! This little guy lucked out by being in the wrong place at the right time! We stumbled on him as his luck would have it when we were at BARC (Houston Pound) rescuing another dog. He was supposedly turned in by his yucky owner. He’s a shy little guy at first and because he had his head down we did not notice his cleft lip/palate at first. As you can see from the pictures, he is missing part of his lip and his tooth sticks out. It’s too cute for words!! It does not seem to bother him at all and our vet said he was either born that way or suffered some kind of severe injury to his mouth. Regardless, it doesn’t bother him and it sure doesn’t bother us – it add tons of character to his sweet self.
Chaplin is a little scared and shy at first (who wouldn’t be after being dumped at the pound), but he quickly warms up and is a love. He gets along well with other dogs and they seem to build his confidence.
Chaplin is neutered, up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped. Other than a little hair loss which is coming back in, he’s a healthy little guy.
Please consider opening your home and heart to this sweet boy. He is going to blossom into a fine young gentleman in no time with a little love.
